Many years ago, before he purchased WQLV-FM radio in Millersburg, Ric Cooper was consulting with a car dealership in another state about publicizing a sales event. For whatever reason, the dealership did NOT advertise in the local newspaper but did advertise using flyers, radio and tv ads, and other forms of advertising. On the day of the event the sales lot was flooded with prospective car buyers, more than usual for this particular annual event. Sales staff asked everyone to complete a card, indicating how they had learned about the sale. The majority of respondents checked the box indicating they learned about the event from the newspaper! It wasn't advertised in the newspapaper!
